Prime Minister Modi Significant Attention To India Tourism Industry Has Yield Result.
India which has lots of tourist attractions like Taj Mahal, Ganges, Amer Fort, Humayun's Tomb has recently moved up in the global tourist ranking. In 2014, India was placed 41st in the world tourism organisation rankings. In 2015, it was 40th globally. Surprisingly now it jumped 16 places to become the 24th in the world tourism ranking.
The UN world tourism ranking are decided based on two things which are; the arrival of non-residents nationals and foreign tourist arrivals. Initially, the ranking was based on Foreign Tourist Arrivals only but now the data of Non-residents nationals is also considered.
According to a press statement, because of this addition, India's rank has improved greatly. In the year 2014, NRI arrivals were 5.43 million while in 2015 they were 5.26million. The FTA's were 13.11 million in 2014 and 13.28 million in 2015. In 2017, there has been a great improvement with the numbers drastically shooting up. In the Travel and Tourism competitiveness Index, India's position jumped 12 places from 2015.
In January, PM Modi tweeted that India has great potentials for tourism and that the world can be attracted to the country. It looks like his words have come true. The country is really blessed with lot of things to be enjoyed by foreigners.
